Our proposal, “Carpets of Nature,” wins the first prize for the regeneration of Guipuzkoa Avenue in Berriozar.

We are pleased to announce that our proposal, “Carpets of Nature,” has won the First Prize in the competition for the regeneration of Guipuzkoa Avenue in Berriozar.

Guipuzkoa Avenue, the central axis of Berriozar’s Casco Nuevo and a direct connection to the center of Pamplona, will be transformed from a traffic-dominated road into a serene, tree-lined promenade. This new design prioritizes community living and aims to bring the natural beauty of nearby fields and mountains into the daily lives of Berriozar residents.

The proposal features five expansive green “carpets” that segment the avenue into distinct sections, creating accessible spaces for community interaction and supporting local small businesses.

We are proud to contribute to the improvement of this urban space and deeply appreciate the trust placed in our team to bring this vision to life.

Thank you for joining us on this exciting journey toward a greener, more human-centered future!

Matter Conference Best Practices: Confort textil in interior spaces

Septiembre Arquitectura was invited as a speaker at the conference and round table Best Practices: Textile comfort in interior spaces organized by Matter Barcelona and sponsored by Lamadrid Contract.
An event to share perspectives on the importance of textile materials in our history, professional practice, and on the comfort and sensoriality they provide us.

Two of the co-founders of September, Sara Baldasano and Damian Figueras, presented the Tsinandali Hotel project where we can see how fabrics become relevant
when designing a project, giving it a special character.

The project, based on three pillars: culture, technology and nature, combines various inspirations to propose an abstraction of the seasons of the year
that we see reflected in each of the four floors of the building.

The fabrics become a priority element to express a visual and tactile concept, without being too obvious.
In the rooms we find a careful choice of colors, metals and textures combining velvet fabrics, natural fibers, rugs and furniture,
with a distinctive identity as you walk through the space.
An exciting and eclectic mix of traditional Georgian, European and contemporary design, developed through centuries of history.

The fabric ends up becoming art, what you feel. It is the transition between the human body and the physical around you.” — Damian Figueras

Thank you to Matter and Lamadrid Contract for inviting us.

Tsinandali Festival in Radisson Collection Hotel

Tsinandali, in Georgia’s Kakheti region, sits in a lush mountainous landscape that’s renowned primarily for its historic wineries. The trees look like broccoli and mist is ever-present, giving everything a tropical feel. The area is also impoverished and difficult to access: the capital, Tbilisi, is a tortuous two hours away by car. To the untrained eye this is the worst-possible location for a classical-music festival. But then again, the place’s history makes it ideal for the purpose.

In 19th-century imperial Russia, Tsinandali was the home of Prince Alexander Chavchavadze. He entertained guests from across Europe, raised Georgia’s esteem in the salons of St Petersburg and kickstarted the country’s winemaking industry. Under him, Tsinandali was a multicultural realm where one could hear French, Russian, Armenian and English.

Radisson Collection Tsinandali in the Forbes magazine

Drinking In Georgia: How A New Hotel Is Merging Old And New Worlds On The Edge Of Europe, it.s the article dedicated to our project Radisson Collection Tsinandali.

¨It’s a multi-layered place to be. The estate itself was once home to the Georgian poet, aristocrat and the ‘father’ of Georgian Romanticism’, Prince Alexander Chavchavadze. (Guests can tap into Alexander’s own history by visiting the neighbouring Tsinandali Palace Museum which documents his life.) Made up of hundreds of acres of vineyards, forests and gardens, it is a magical setting, with the Radisson Collection Hotel, carved out of the original 19th century winery, found at its heart.¨ Angelica Villa-Clarke

MIQ project in the NAN magazine

From the wear and tear of an old house to an important historical archive, is the article that NAN magazine dedicates to our MIQ project.

In the heart of the old town of Sarriá, in Barcelona, a comprehensive rehabilitation of a single-family house between party walls has been carried out. The original richness of the house is more than remarkable, reddish tones, tiles and greens predominate, with hydraulic floors, brick and stone walls with Catalan volta roofs. Arriving at the rear patio, a wild nature surrounds you and reveals the small rear study. September Architecture feeds on this original richness and adapts it to new needs and uses. Promoting the overlapping of styles, which allows preserving the history, the spirit of the house and some of its construction details, and transforming it into a new reality. The work is a back and forth between the new housing needs and the recovery of the existing inheritance.

The MIQ Project is selected as a finalist in the XV Spanish Architecture and Urbanism Biennial

We are proud to be selected among the most relevant projects of Architecture and Urbanism in the last 3 years. The Spanish Biennial of Architecture and Urbanism has chosen our project MIQ as a finalist for the XV BEAU. Thanks to all the organizing team of the biennial Óscar Miguel Ares, Anna Bach, Eugeni Bach and the rest of the jury.

In this edition of the Spanish Architecture and Urbanism Biennial (BEAU), 581 proposals have been presented, of which 100 projects have been selected and 70 have been finalists. The call ‘Panorama de Obras de Arquitectura y Urbanismo’ will reward the most outstanding architecture and urban planning, with a final selection of 20 projects.

The theme that will be the backbone of the XV BEAU ‘Empty Spain, full Spain. Conciliation Strategies’ is a curatorial proposal that will try to offer an overview that contributes to the approach and reflection on the conciliation capacities that architecture and urban planning may have with respect to the different territorial realities that exist in the country: that of a Spain dense, dynamic and populated; and that of another with less density, more invariable and uninhabited.

The works selected and finalists in this call have been chosen according to criteria of quality, relevance, social and cultural vocation or innovation. According to the team of curators — Óscar Miguel Ares, Anna Bach and Eugeni Bach—, the same works reflect “not only the excellent architectural, landscaping and urban planning work of a large number of professionals, but also the current state of architecture in our country”

It will be held this summer in parallel in a double venue -from June 28 to September 16 in the Barcelona Pavilion, and from July 2 to September 23 in the Patio Herreriano in Valladolid- and with one objective: to serve as a point of encounter between citizenship, architecture and urban planning and claiming the social value of both disciplines.

The project is a comprehensive rehabilitation of a single-family house based on a house between party walls, in the old town of Sarriá, Barcelona. MIQ is the name of the project, short for Miquel, the former owner. The original wealth of the house is more than remarkable. Reddish, tile and green tones predominate, with hydraulic floors, brick and stone walls with Catalan volta ceilings, upon reaching the back patio, a wild nature surrounds you and reveals the small rear studio. This constructive richness is the source of inspiration for the project. We feed on this original wealth and adapt it to new needs and uses. Enhancing the superposition of styles, which allows to preserve the history, the spirit of the house and some of its construction details and transform it into a new reality.

Work is a back and forth between the new housing needs and the recovery of the legacy. Something like elevating the wear and tear of the old home into a historic asset. The result proposes a house with three bedrooms, a living-dining room with a kitchen and a study at the rear of the backyard. The original staircase is respected, but the exit to the roof is redone, executing a roof formed by a large isolated Catalan double loop and an opening oriented to the south-west.

The rest of the spaces recover the original ceilings with wooden and metal beams, showing the construction phases of the building. Thus, the rooms are covered with parquet floors, while the original stone and brick walls dress the living room, the head of the suite, the patio and the study. The exterior metal staircase, designed in a way that acquires great lightness, ascends to the walkable roof of the studio, thus taking advantage of all the exterior spaces.

The design of the house aims to return the wild character of the vegetation, for this a planter and a metal structure that arises from the railing of the exterior staircase is created and that will allow the recovery of the existing vegetation.
